We are pleased to announce the inaugural exhibition of our Research Series on the work of Annette Lemieux. This historical project, entitled Past Present, features key works from the 1980s. The artist emerged around the time that witnessed the rise of the "picture theory" movement. With a Duchampian approach, Lemieux embraces subtexts of objects and images, focusing on their interplay with historical media and informed narratives. At a critical shift that rationalizes time, Lemieux has established groundbreaking work over the last 30 years and continues to be prescient on topics of class, power, gender, and identity.
This project is in cooperation with Kent Fine Art.
Forthcoming Research Series exhibitions will be announced this fall, which will include major historically significant artists such as Adrian Piper, Wallace & Donahue and others.
